Science Behind the Healing
Peer-reviewed research with Cambridge & Tel Aviv Universities tracks every veteran's progress — before, during, and after.

A Place to Breathe
Seven days immersed in nature. Wilderness, equine therapy, open skies, and space to feel human again.

Brotherhood, Rebuilt
Veterans heal together as the unit they fought in. The bond that kept them alive in combat becomes the bond that heals them.

"
The experience of being a soldier in a war like this is not human. All my human proportions changed. There's a lot of guilt, anger, and sadness. I will have to live with these wounds forever. The retreat in the United States brought a crazy amount of light into that period. That people really want to help us. That we're not alone.
— Hagai, IDF Paratrooper · Wounded in Gaza, July 2024
"
Combat veterans who participated in the HiN program showed a 25% reduction in PTSD symptoms, while a control group showed none.
The Experience
Healing in Nature (HiN) is an Israeli nonprofit committed to helping Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) combat veterans heal, reconnect, and rebuild their lives through nature, technology, and community.
HiN created a structured, research-backed healing environment where veterans come together to process their experiences, support one another, and embark on a lifelong journey of well-being.
At HiN, we believe that healing is not a solitary path - it’s a shared mission. By integrating nature-based therapy, holistic healing practices, advanced research, and essential coping tools, we provide veterans with the resources they need to move forward with strength and resilience.
Our work doesn’t stop after a single experience - HiN fosters a lifelong support network, ensuring that no veteran has to face their challenges alone.
Through a comprehensive, long-term approach - before, during, and after their time with us - HiN empowers veterans to reclaim their well-being, rebuild their sense of purpose, and thrive beyond their service.
Vision and Mission

Vision
Every IDF combat veteran deserves to come home, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. HiN creates the space for that return: through nature, science, and the power of shared experience

Mission statement
HiN is an Israeli-based nonprofit entity that serves as an outdoor venue for IDF combat veterans’ teams.
HiN focuses on Israeli Combat Veterans and brings combat units together to jointly unpack experiences from their service.
HiN will suggest to the participants to join a community of veterans, which will act as a support group for life.

Scientific research and measuring
HiN will meet with combat teams to create a pre-HiN session baseline and will continue to gather data during the HiN experience, as well as a post-HiN experience evaluation.
HiN will cooperate with professional and experienced experts in various fields to prepare the groups, escort them, and follow up with them.
HiN participants will be accompanied by scientific academic teams from Cambridge and Tel Aviv Universities to measure and assess the results, implement new technologies, and provide scientific data to support the processes.
